Shell Foundation email scam

Upon opening the email I knew it wasn’t from Shell Foundation. The modus operandi glaringly similar to scam emails I’ve received before. Such emails often ask the recipients for personal information or require you to contact an unknown person. To make their claim authentic – they might include the name of the ‘real’ person – obviously without their person knowledge.

So, be careful and do not reply to this type of email. There are two thing reasons why they sent this type of email:

  • They want to verify if the email is active (mean it belong to someone not machine)
  • If you reply and provide them with all the info – be on high alerts. Those information will be used for other scamming activities.
